Global Engagement in the Office of International Affairs
The Office of International Affairs (OIA) at North Carolina A&T State University is dedicated to fostering global engagement and internationalization in alignment with the university’s Preeminence 2030 strategic goals. By providing students, faculty, and staff with transformative global opportunities, OIA ensures that A&T remains a leader in preparing graduates for success in a rapidly evolving, interconnected world.
Our global engagement initiatives include:
Study Abroad & Exchange Programs: Expanding access to study, research, and internship opportunities worldwide, ensuring students develop critical global competencies.
Global Learning & Cultural Exchange: Facilitating workshops and events that promote cross-cultural understanding, inclusive global dialogue, and awareness of international issues.
Global Voices Speaker Series: Showcasing the journeys and insights of globally engaged students, faculty, staff, alumni, and invited guests. This speaker series creates space for reflection, storytelling, and inspiration around topics such as global mobility, international research, cross-cultural identity, and the power of global education.
International Student & Scholar Support: Providing resources, advocacy, and tailored programming to enhance the experience and integration of international students, visiting scholars, and faculty into the A&T community.
Sponsored Global Programs & Fellowships: Supporting access to competitive global programs such as the Institute of International Education (IIE) International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP), the IIE American Passport Project Grant, and the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) Overseas Faculty Development Seminars.
Through these initiatives, OIA raises awareness and provides opportunities for the A&T community to engage globally, supporting the university’s mission of excellence, innovation, and leadership on the world stage.
