CIHDER Research
The research objectives of CIHDER are:
- Create an interdisciplinary community of researchers who leverage their expertise to solve complex problems associated with health disparities in chronic and infectious diseases.
- Conduct fundamental research in health disparities, transcending behavioral, basic, and translational aspects.
- Develop methods, technologies, and best practices for conducting basic, translational, and behavioral research that addresses health disparities and equity.
Funding:
- The University of Minnesota and North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) have announced a funded collaboration through their research partnership. Dr. Fonkoue's proposal, in collaboration with Dr. Marc Cook,(Racial Disparities and Vascular Dysfunction in PTSD) received funding and will be featured in the February 2025 seminar series.
- Dr. Celeste Jackson-Butts & Dr. Jason Mose were collaborators on the funded proposal: Scaling Social Determinants of Health from Neighborhoods to the Nation
- Dr. Geleana Alston was a collaborator on the funded proposal:Advancing Leadership and Participation of Underrepresented Adult Learners in STEM: A Collaborative Initiative between UMN and NCAT
- Dr. Ashley Sanderlin was also a collaborator on a funded proposal:Creating a Collaborative Neuroscience System (CNS)
