About COAACH
The Center for Outreach in Alzheimer’s, Aging, and Community Health (COAACH) at North Carolina A&T State University is a national leader in advancing equity in aging and brain health. COAACH was founded to address the critical health disparities disproportionately affecting underserved communities as they age. COAACH connects academic expertise with real-world community needs through research, education, outreach, and training grounded in community engagement.
COAACH collaborates with faith-based groups, local organizations, students, and health professionals to deliver culturally responsive health education, promote brain health awareness, and connect older adults to supportive resources. Our approach prioritizes the lived experiences and needs of diverse communities to develop health solutions that are inclusive, effective, and relevant.
We are committed to advocating for the needs and rights of dementia patients and advancing scientific research toward prevention, treatment, and a cure.
Vision: To create communities where all individuals—regardless of race, background, or socioeconomic status—can age with dignity, health, and access to the resources they need to thrive.
