Outreach

The Physics Department is involved in outreach at all levels, hosting school groups, high school physics teachers, and public observatory nights. 

Planetarium: The Physics Department operates a planetarium, in Marteena 311 on the NCA&T campus. For more information or to schedule, contact caesarl@ncat.edu. 

Three College Observatory: The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina A&T State University, and Guilford College jointly operate the Three College Observatory, a 0.81-meter reflecting telescope in Alamance County. The TCO is open to the public approximately once a month. For more information, tickets, or to book a private viewing, visit the website. 

QuarkNet: The Department of Physics is part of the national QuarkNet collaboration, which aims to connect high school teachers with physics researchers to provide access to cutting edge research activities and develop new instructional material and strategies.
