About the Graduate College Alumni Hall of Fame
Each year, The Graduate College at North Carolina A&T State University will induct exemplary alumni into our Graduate Alumni Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame serves to acknowledge N.C. A&T graduate program alumni with outstanding professional, scholarly, and/or entrepreneurial achievements. Examples include, but are not limited to, alumni who:
- Are recognized by a professional organization at a high level (e.g., AAEA fellow, ASAE fellow, IEEE fellow)
- Have published a significant number of influential publications or patents built on research designed to advance the human condition
- Serve as leaders in academia (e.g., leadership in a national or international research center, distinguished faculty title, or university leadership position)
- Have founded a successful business or organization
- Serve or served at the senior management level in a corporation or organization
- Have been recognized by a national scholarly or civic organization for their work
Graduate Alumni Hall of Fame serve as inspiring role models for current and future generations of students, showcasing the diverse ways a graduate education can lead to meaningful and transformative contributions to society. Additionally, the Alumni Hall of Fame serves as a testament to the quality of education and mentorship provided by N.C. A&T's graduate programs, fostering a sense of pride and connection among alumni, faculty, and students.
Nomination Process
Each year, The Graduate College invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members to submit nominations for The Graduate College Hall of Fame Alumni Achievement Awards. Recipients will be honored at a special ceremony during the Spring semester and inducted in the Graduate College Alumni Hall of Fame.
Nomination Period: Each year, the nomination period is September 1st through September 30th. Nomination packets will only be accepted during the nomination period.
Eligibility criteria for nomination to The Graduate College Alumni Hall of Fame are as follows:
- Individual must have graduated from a master’s or doctoral degree program at North Carolina A&T State University.
- Submitted nomination documents should reflect and directly support the specific distinction and achievement of the candidate in his/her professional and/or personal/community life since completing a graduate program at North Carolina A&T State University. The nominee must have made a significant impact in their profession and/or community.
- Recipients must be available to attend the award ceremony in the Spring.
Nomination Instructions:
The nominator must compile the nomination documents and submit them to The Graduate College for consideration.
Required Documents:
- Graduate Alumni Hall of Fame Nomination Form (serves as a cover page for the nomination).
- A 1-3 page summary of the nominee's achievements that paints a very descriptive picture and makes the case to the selection committee for inclusion in the Graduate Alumni Hall of Fame.
- A resume or curriculum vitae (CV) for the nominee.
Additional Documentation:
- To make a stronger case, nominators should consider including additional documentation, such as additional letters of support, copies of articles or press releases about the nominee, details about any awards received, or any other relevant materials that demonstrate the achievements and distinguished work of the nominee.
Submission and Review of Nominations:
As mentioned above, nomination packets will only be accepted during the nomination period (from September 1st through September 30th)..
Nomination materials should be submitted by email to grad@ncat.edu with "Hall of Fame Nomination" included in the subject line.
Nominators are welcome to nominate more than one individual, but separate nomination materials must be submitted for each nominee. Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee formed by members of The Graduate College Strategic Advisory Board.
If the committee finds that the nomination package lacks adequate information at any stage of the selection process, the nomination will be disqualified, and the nominator will receive notification.
The committee will make its decision about each year's Graduate Alumni Hall of Fame inductees. Inductees will be notified and invited to the induction ceremony in the Spring.
