Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Intercultural Engagement (OIE) at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University is to support the educational, cultural, social, and intellectual growth of all students. OIE fosters a broad understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives and lived experiences through education, training, community engagement, and programming. In alignment with the UNC System Equality Policy, the office maintains institutional neutrality while offering inclusive programs and services—such as the LGBTA Resource Center, the Meditation and Reflection Room, and Religious and Spiritual Life—that contribute to student success and a welcoming campus environment for every Aggie.

Vision Statement

The Office of Intercultural Engagement (OIE) envisions a university community where all students are empowered to succeed academically, personally, and professionally. We strive to foster a climate that values mutual respect, equitable opportunity, and a shared sense of community across campus. By creating spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and belonging, OIE works with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to build connections that strengthen student achievement and enhance the overall campus experience.
