EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 18, 2019) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is one of the top 10 best colleges for jobs in North Carolina, according to job-finding website Zippia.com.
Zippia.com placed North Carolina A&T State University at No. 9, with 91.62% of graduates with jobs, on its 2019 list released this month.
The site used information from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and College Scorecard Data to search for the colleges in each state with the highest listed job placement ratings, specifically examining employment levels at year 10 after students have graduated.
“Compared to a lot of other states, North Carolina has some unique advantages as far as attending college here goes,” said Zippia.com’s Chris Kolmar. “There are impressive research universities, quality state schools, and the ability to study majors that will prepare you well for the job market.”
For determining North Carolina results, Zippia.com limited its analysis to the 49 public and nonprofit four-year institutions that offer at least a bachelor’s degree. It then ranked each college from best to worst on the percentage of graduates with jobs.
The Zippia.com report is the latest to support the value and quality of education N.C. A&T offers.
Last month, Money magazine’s “Best Colleges for Your Money 2019” ranked N.C. A&T the most affordable campus among the 22 North Carolina colleges and universities it surveyed. It also has the third-lowest cost to attend among all 744 colleges and universities in the magazine’s list.
The best online college rankings include four national rankings and 47 by-state rankings. The methodology for these rankings employs median mid-career salary data, as well as manually researched tuition rates and degree offerings.
N.C. A&T moved up in the U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges 2020” rankings, earning recognition as the nation’s No. 1 public historically black college or university and breaking into the numeral rankings among national universities for the first time.
