EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2025) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has named Regina Williams Davis, Ph.D., assistant vice provost for online and extended learning, effective Nov. 1. She’s currently serving as the academic project manager for Project Kitty Hawk (PKH).

As assistant vice provost, Davis serves as the chief strategist for expanding and advancing N.C. A&T’s online education, summer sessions, and workforce-aligned continuing education programs. Reporting to Vice Provost for Engagement and Outreach Rosalind Dale, Ed.D., she leads initiatives that ensure the university remains a national leader in digital education and lifelong learning.

“Dr. Davis has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership and a deep commitment to student success during her nearly 20-year career at A&T,” said Dale. “Her strategic insight and collaborative spirit will be instrumental in shaping the future of online and extended learning at N.C. A&T.”

Davis brings a distinguished record of leadership in student success, academic innovation, and institutional effectiveness. Most recently, she served as associate vice provost for student success and university registrar, where she co-founded the University Student Success Office and led transformative initiatives that increased retention and graduation rates across the university.

Throughout her tenure at A&T, Davis has held multiple leadership roles, including interim vice provost for Strategic Planning, Operations and Institutional Effectiveness and director of the Center for Academic Excellence. She has also served as the university’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Accreditation Liaison, leading a successful reaffirmation process with no findings or recommendations.

In this permanent role, Davis will collaborate with many university divisions and external partners to expand continuing education and workforce training initiatives. Her appointment marks a significant step forward in A&T’s commitment to innovation, access, and excellence in education for traditional and nontraditional learners alike.

Davis joined A&T in 2007 as a professor in the Department of English and Communication Studies and later served as chair of the Department of Liberal Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in education leadership and cultural foundations and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Women’s and Gendered Studies from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, M.A. in communication and human relations from the University of Oklahoma, and B.A. in biological sciences from Hampton University.
