EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 26, 2026) — North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University alumnae Shawanna Nicole Moore-Geter and Jamilla Pinder are among 25 honorees named Triad Business Journal’s 2026 Outstanding Women in Business.

Moore-Geter, founder of Counseling With a Purpose, earned her M.S. in clinical mental health counseling from N.C. A&T in 2014. Counseling With a Purpose is a mental and behavioral health practice that offers goal-oriented, trauma-informed counseling for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma and other life challenges. The practice emphasizes personalized support, culturally responsive care and virtual services designed to meet clients where they are.

Triad Business Journal previously recognized Moore-Geter as a member of its 2023 Class of 30 Under 30.

Pinder, director of community engagement and impact at Cone Health Foundation, earned her B.S. in agribusiness and food industry management from A&T in 2019. At Cone, her work centers on community voice, trust-building and equity-focused engagement. She strengthens the organization’s ability to listen and respond to historically marginalized communities more effectively.

Pinder also served as a member of Greensboro City Council, appointed to fill the unexpired term of fellow A&T alumna Yvonne Johnson who died in office, from February 2025 through December.

Triad Business Journal will celebrate the honorees – leaders who represent nonprofits, manufacturing, education and professional services and have contributed to the region’s success – Thursday, April 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Cadillac Garage in Greensboro.

It also will recognize the award winners online and in a special print publication Friday, April 24.
