Do I need an appointment to visit Career Services?

No. We offer walk-in hours for quick questions and resume reviews. However, for in-depth career advising sessions, we recommend scheduling an appointment through Handshake to ensure dedicated time with an advisor.

What is Handshake and how do I sign up?

Handshake is our career services platform where you can search for jobs and internships, register for career fairs, and schedule advising appointments. All NC A&T students have an account — log in at ncat.joinhandshake.com using your university credentials.

Can Career Services help me if I am undecided about my major?

Absolutely. Our career advisors can help you explore career paths, take assessments to identify your strengths, and connect your interests to potential majors and industries. You do not need to have it all figured out to visit us.

When are the career fairs?

NC A&T hosts 4 career fairs per year, including the Fall and Spring University Career Fairs plus industry-specific and virtual events. The Fall 2026 Career Fair is Wednesday, September 16 at First Horizon Coliseum. Dates are posted on Handshake and announced on Instagram @ncatocs.

Are Career Services available for alumni?

Yes. Alumni receive one-on-one advising, resume reviews, and mock interviews for up to two years after graduation — and Handshake access and career fairs for life. Visit our Alumni Portal for details.

How do I prepare for a career fair?

Update your resume and Handshake profile, research the employers attending, prepare your elevator pitch, and dress in business professional attire. Then schedule a pre-fair resume review with any of our advisors — or catch us at the Resume Drive, September 2–4 in the Deese Ballroom.
