❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about posting jobs and using Handshake for student employment.
Do I need a separate Handshake account?
No. NC A&T has an institutional Handshake license. All faculty and staff can access the platform using their university credentials. If you need employer-level access to post jobs, contact Career Services and we will activate your account.
How long does it take for my job posting to go live?
Career Services reviews all postings for quality and compliance. Most postings are approved within 1–2 business days.
Can I still use AggieTalent or PeopleAdmin?
AggieTalent (PeopleAdmin) remains the system for formal staff and faculty hiring through HR. For student employment specifically, we are transitioning all departments to Handshake as the centralized platform.
What if I need help creating my first posting?
Career Services offers hands-on support. Attend a Posting Lab session, schedule a one-on-one walkthrough, or drop in during office hours. Video tutorials are also available above.
How do students find my job posting?
Students discover postings through the Handshake app and website. Handshake also sends personalized job recommendations based on interests, major, and class year.
Can I track applicants and view resumes?
Yes. Handshake provides a full applicant tracking system. View applications, download resumes, message candidates, and export data for your records.
Is there a cost to my department?
No. Handshake is fully covered by the university’s institutional license. There is no additional cost to individual departments.
